BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH
One thousand years ago a caravan of Jewish traders made their way
along the silk road, and settled in the Tang Dynasty city of Kaifeng.
Over the next Millenium, Jewish communities were established in
Harbin, Tianjin, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
By the end of World War II, there were over 30,00 Jews in Shanghai,
the largest such community in the Far East.
In the spirit of co-operation between the two communities
the musical programme will showcase both Jewish and Chinese talent.
The Toronto based Lachan Jewish Chamber Choir recently returned from
the International Choir Competitions in China,
will present their ever popular "Shtetl to Broadway" selections.
Please join us,
Sunday, March 4th 2007; 7:30 P.M. at the
The Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto
5183 Sheppard Ave East
